RELAX ... UNWIND .......REST YOUR BODY AND MIND
" Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most valuable inheritance of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow." Swami Satyananda Saraswati
The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word "yuj" which means "to join." Therefore, yoga means unity or oneness, in spiritual terms it means the union of the individual consciousness with the union of the universal consciousness. On a more practical level it means balancing and harmonising of the body, mind and emotions. The combination of physical postures, deep breathing exercises, balances and relaxation help to calm the mind and tone the body both inside and out.
Yoga is a non competitive form of exercise therefore you do not need to be especially fit or supple, that will come with practise.

Leave a minimum of 2 hours after eating before practising
Wear loose comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. For relaxation you may wish to have a blanket or an extra warm top.
Work on a non slip yoga mat - mats can be provided but it is best to invest in your own mat
Always practise in bare feet
Although yoga is for everyone, if you have any health concerns, it is wise to consult with your doctor before you begin.
Listen to your body, stretch but never strain.
Resist the urge to be competitive, even with yourself.
Relax and enjoy your yoga - be in the 'here and now' - BE YOU !!!
